Joe & The Shitboys maakt naar eigen zeggen veganistische, queer shitpunk. Het viertal is afkomstig van de Faröer-eilanden, een autonoom gebied binnen het Koninkrijk Denemarken, en is opgericht met de bedoeling om slecht gedrag op deze conservatieve eilanden keihard aan te pakken. Met hun nieuwe single ‘MR. NOBODY’ steken ze wederom een dikke middelvinger op in een lange reeks van middelvingers die al eerder werden opgestoken met nummers zoals ‘Save The Planet, You Dumb Shit’ of ‘FUCK EVERYBODY’. Na festivals en tournees door het Verenigd Koninkrijk en Noord-Amerika sinds ze in 2020 opkwamen, keren Joe & The Shitboys in november terug naar Europa voor een knallende tour.

The queer vegan shitpunks, Joe & The Shitboys, formed with the intention of calling out shitty behaviour in the conservative Faroe Islands, where the rock scene is filled with boneless homophobes and meat-eating misogynists – and continue to take their aim at general vibe killers everywhere.

The live shows are full of energy, with a barrage of songs often under a minute long, like “Drugs R’4 Kidz”, “Life Is Great You Suck” and “If You Believe in Eating Meat, Start With Your Dog”, being broken up by the flamboyant frontman roasting the audience relentlessly.

The band (Joe, Ziggy Shit, Johnny Shit and Ollie Shit) have played every type of venue there is; DIY gigs on roof tops, public toilets, underground tunnels, museums and skateparks, as well as extensive bookings from major festivals. With rave reviews coming in from Iggy Pop, BBC Radio 6 Music, NME, DIY, Brooklyn Vegan and more, the band are already tipped as one of the most exciting new live acts around.
