Not Fit For TV
Stel je een duistere, rokerige kelder voor, doordrenkt met het aroma van bier en klamme muren. Daar, op het kruispunt van punk, surf en garage, tref je dit enthousiaste Utrechtse trio aan, NOT FIT
FOR TV. Bestaande uit drie gedreven jongens, heeft de band één enkel doel: het publiek opzwepen met rauwe energie die je recht in je gezicht slaat.
Scheurende gitaren, knallende drums en ritmische baspartijen ondersteunen de bij vlagen monotone vocals over politiek, het leven en complete nonsens. Muziek voert de boventoon, terwijl ze raggen en rammen totdat niemand meer stil kan staan.
Met een enerverende mix van punk, surf, garage, grunge en een vleugje funk creëert NOT FIT FOR TV een sound waarin menig muziekliefhebber zich kan vinden. De band laat zich inspireren door een breed scala aan artiesten. Denk aan Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Clash, The Chats,
Talking Heads en een vroege The Cure.
De band liet zowel bij Db’s als bij Beton-T zien het publiek te kunnen opzwepen met nummers als ‘Medication’, ‘Bathroom Stall’ en ‘Hypocrite’. Begin 2025 komt de debuutsingle van NOT FIT FOR TV, ‘0340034’, uit!

“In de traditie van classic rock en moderne postpunk”
“The Captain verzorgde een ruiger optreden waarin je postpunk, jaren 2000 en zelfs wat classic rock kon horen. Wat al snel opviel was het duidelijke plezier waarmee de band optrad, met name de zangeres en bassist zaten lekker in de groove. De basriffs galoppeerden door de zaal als die van Steve Harris van Iron Maiden, maar dan vergezeld van meer gevloek dan Bruce Dickinson ooit zou hebben aangedurfd. The Captain neigt dus wel echt meer richting het rauwere shred- en springwerk. Voor het slotnummer werd de zaal vrijgemaakt en de energie opgebouwd, die losbarstte in een moshpit waar de band zelf nog het hardste aan meedeed.”
